Chiropractors are licensed and regulated health-care professionals trained in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of biomechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system along with the maintenance of overall good health and well-being. Their scope of practice in addition to the treatment of muscle, nerve and joint-related injuries can also include movement assessments, strength and conditioning and basic nutrition counselling, to name a few.
While traditionally it is often thought that Chiropractors only treat back and neck/spine related pain, they can also help with a variety of pain symptoms and injuries related to the shoulders, arms, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and even feet.

Dr Thomas uses a variety of methods to help patients meet their health and performance goals. ALTHA Health and Sport puts an emphasis on movement based, patient centred, evidence-informed care and individualized take-home movement strategies to help you move and feel better.

Dr Pauline Thomas DC, BSc.

Dr Pauline Thomas was raised on Vancouver Island, BC and has always had a passion for movement, nature and nutrition. “ALTHA Health and Sport” was born from her great appreciation of the outdoors and continuously striving to expand her personal boundaries, specifically through sports, backcountry camping and alpine hiking. She incorporates these passions into her patient plans by emphasizing daily movement, healthy nutritional habits and regular interaction with nature.

Pauline graduated from the University of Victoria in 2011 with a combined Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Psychology (with Distinction) and then went on to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2017 (with Magna Cum Laude and Dean’s List honours) from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, ON.

Dr Thomas’ mission is to inspire, educate and ultimately empower her patients to be proactive on their journey of health and performance. Healthcare should be about cultivating resilience, helping patients to become ‘anti-fragile’ and placing an emphasis on self-care and active rehabilitation. Pauline can help patients with neck and back pain, extremity issues (hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, knees, ankles and feet), sports injuries, disc herniations, chronic pain and much more. Treatments include hands-on therapy and home movement strategies to help improve quality of life.

Pauline has First Aid Responder experience working with AAA and Junior Hockey teams, Men’s Rugby and numerous other sports. She has over 10 years of experience working with children in recreational settings including sports camps, nutrition programs, toddlers soccer and special needs day camps. She helps people of all ages to move better including weekend warriors, seniors, athletes and children. By building strength, and improving movement strategies, her patients are able to face the demands of everyday life, improve their performance and work to prevent recurrent injuries.
